A meeting of
Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) London branch took place. The meeting was
attended by London branch office bearers and Ex-President of JKLF UK zone Mr
Mlaik Latif Khan who presided over the meeting.
In a press statement
issued from London, several important matters relating to movement and the
organisation were thoroughly discussed.
Branch members expressed
deep sorrow over the sad demise of Javaid Rashid, a lifelong member of London
branch. While paying glowing tributes and remembering his services to Kashmiri
nation, office bearers prayed for the departed soul and expressed their
sympathies with the bereaved family. Attendees pledged to continue with his mission for a democratic and independent
state of Jammu Kashmir.
While addressing
the meeting Malik Latif Khan He reiterated
JKLF’s position that Kashmir is not a territorial dispute between India and
Pakistan and that both countries owed it to the future peace and prosperity of
1.5 billion people of India, Pakistan and Jammu Kashmir to find a just,
democratic and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute, based on the
unfettered, inherent and inalienable right to self-determination of over 20
million Kashmiris across the LoC and in the Diaspora.
Mahmood Hussain, Ex-President of JKLF UK zone while addressing
the meeting said the continuing deaths of innocent civilians in Indian Occupied
Kashmir at the hands of the Indian army is intolerable, and unbecoming of a
civilised world when civilians are deliberately targeted by a professional army.
He further said that Indian Army even targets civilians in many parts of
Pakistan administered Jammu Kashmir. The international community has a moral
and legal responsibility to censure those responsible for causing misery, death
and desolation to innocent lives.
The meeting unanimously passed a resolution condemning
Pakistan’s new political map in which Jammu Kashmir has been portrayed as part
of Pakistan.
Those who also spoke on this occasion include Moahammad Latif Khan,
Mahmood Hussain, Tariq Sharif, Sanawar Hussain, Imran Javaid, Tahir Ashraf,
Nazakat Ali, Mohammad Nadeem, Mohammad Saleem, and others.
