Joint protest sit-in of APHC (G), APHC (M) and JKLF against Pandit, Sainik colonies, industrial policy, oppression against youth and Jammu Muslims held at Lal Chowk

Our joint resistance against anti-Muslim, anti-Kashmiri plots of so-called rulers will continue till these are practically rolled back. So-called rulers who are hell bent upon implementing conspiratorial plots in Kashmir and who have unleashed a reign of terror against Kashmiri youth are the ones who are destabilizing situation, promoting violence and hence destroying the economy of Kashmiris. // Muhammad Yasin Malik

Srinagar June 25: Our joint resistance against anti-Muslim, anti-Kashmiri plots of so-called rulers will continue till these are practically rolled back. So-called rulers who are hell bent upon implementing conspiratorial plots in Kashmir and who have unleashed a reign of terror against Kashmiri youth are the ones who are destabilizing situation, promoting violence and hence destroying the economy of Kashmiris.

This was stated by the chairman Jammu Kashmir liberation front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik while speaking to the participants of a protest sit-in held at Madina Chowk Lal Chowk today. This protest sit-in was organized jointly by APHC (G), APHC (M) and JKLF and was a part of joint resistance against Pandit colonies, Sainik colonies, and industrial policy, oppression unleashed against Jammu Muslims and Kashmiri youth across the valley.

Besides JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, APHC (G) leader Mehraj ud din Kalwal and APHC (M) leader Ghulam Nabi Zaki also addressed the gathering. Besides various leaders and activists from two Hurriyats and JKLF, people from all walks of life including women participated in today’s protest. Raising slogans in favor of freedom, martyrs and resistance and against Pandit, Sainik colonies, industrial policy, arrests, nocturnal raids and other oppressive measures, the protest sit-in continued for more than one hour.

While addressing the participants of today’s protest sit-in JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik said that this joint protest is the part of ongoing program against separate colonies in the name of Pandits, Colonies for Sainiks ,industrial policy and oppression unleashed against Jammu Muslims and Kashmiri youth.

He said that on daily basis new disclosures are coming to surface and we are being told that nearly 600 industrial units of outsiders have already been established in Kashmir and thousands of outsiders have been issued the state subject certificates. He said rulers for their lust of power want to change demography of Jammu Kashmir through their RSS backed plans but Alhamdollilah leadership in Kashmir have realized the gravity of situation and all have decided to fight these conspiratorial plots with unity. He said that this joint resistance will continue till these anti-Muslim, anti-Kashmiri plots are not rolled back and stopped practically. Yasin Malik said that so-called chief minister on daily basis is issuing statement about saving tourist season and she is accusing resistance camp of destroying this season.

Actually the reality is different as it is not the resistance camp but these so-called rulers who through their oppressive measures are trying to destroy the economy of Kashmiris, asserted Yasin Malik. He said that from last one month joint resistance is going on but during this period resistance camp instead asking people to give sacrifices have rendered sacrifices themselves and have tried to safeguard the economy of the common people but on contrary so-called rulers throughout the valley have unleashed a reign of terror against youth, resistance lovers and common people.

He said that a young boy from Maisuma Ashiq Hussain Dar was arrested some 7 months ago and slapped with PSA. High court quashed his PSA and ordered his release but so-called rulers slapped another PSA on him and shifted him to kuthwa jail. Similarly another young boy from same locality Faisal Aslam also is languishing in jail from last 8 months.

Yasin Malik said that similar kind of oppression has been unleashed in Islamabad town, Shehr I Khaas (downtown) Srinagar, Sopore, Kupwara, Baramullah, Pulwama and so on. He said that a war has been started against Kashmiris and that too in the holy month of Ramadhan. Nocturnal raids, humiliating the citizens, desecration of Masjid in Islamabad, cutting down four figures of a Kashmiri youth at Kupwara and other oppressive measures are glaring examples of the fact that so-called rulers are promoting violence and are hell bent upon contaminating atmosphere and hence are hell bent on destroying the economic life of Kashmiris. How can these so-called rulers put blame on resistance camp when it is their anti-Kashmir, anti-Muslim and anti-people policies that are promoting violence and contemplating atmosphere? Asked Yasin Malik.

Yasin Malik said that so-called chief minister Mst. Mehmooba Mufti for his lust of power has lost her sagacity. She is the same lady who used to wear green robes and shed tears on the corpses of martyrs. She is the same lady who displaying play-cards used to raise her voice against army, AFSPA, killings of youth and incarceration of people. Now as she has got power, she has turned worst oppressor and is setting new records of suppression and oppression, added Yasin Malik. He said that this oppression and suppression cannot deter us from perusing the path of truth and resistance and we warn these so-called rulers to stop their oppressive measures and implementation of conspiratorial agenda or face stiff resistance from Kashmiris.

JKLF Protest held against conspiratorial plots, arrests, house arrests and other oppressive measures

JKLF Protest held against conspiratorial plots, arrests, house arrests and other oppressive measures

Press Release

O3 JUNE 2016

JKLF leaders and activists staged a sit-in at Budshah Chowk hoisted black flags throughout the Valley

Srinagar 03 June // Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leaders and activists today organized various protests throughout the valley against construction of separate  settlement colonies in the name of Kashmiri Pandits, separate colonies for ex-army men, east India company type new industrial policy intended to change the demography of Jammu Kashmir , oppression unleashed against Jammu Muslims, house arresting APHC(G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani and APHC(M) chairman Mirwaiz Muhammad Umer Farooq and others, Arresting JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and shifting him to central jail Srinagar, nocturnal raids and other oppressive measures by police throughout the valley.

As JKLF activist’s organized protests sit-in’s and hoisted black flags as a mark of protest throughout the valley, police was seen removing these black flags for the whole day. During this most peaceful protest program police arrested JKLF district president Islamabad Muhammad Ishaaq Ganaie, raided JKLF offices at Abi Guzar to arrest JKLF zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal and zonal organizer Bashir Kashmiri, raided residence of JKLF district president Pulwama Javed Ahmad Butt and many others at Soura and other parts of the city. It is worth to mention that besides JKLF chairman who is in central jail Srinagar, JKLF vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi is also under house arrest from last many days.

Following the joint program announced by JKLF, APHC (G) and APHC (M), JKLF leaders and activists led by vice chairman advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt today staged a peaceful protest sit-in near Budshah Chowk Lal Chowk. Besides JKLF leaders and activists a large number of people including women from all walks of life also joined this protest sit-in. with play cards and black flags in their hands, the participants of the protest sit-in raised slogans against conspiratorial plots of India and its Kashmiri stooges especially proposed construction of separate colonies for Pandits, ex-army men, industrial policy, arrests, raids and other oppressive measures. This sit-in was addressed by various JKLF leaders including Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Mir Siraj ud din and Sheikh Abdul Rashid. In his addressed JKLF vice chairman advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt said that today’s joint protest program is against various conspiratorial designs of india and its stooges and also against oppression unleashed by police.

While condemning the continues detention and house arrest of various leaders including chairman APHC(G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani, chairman APHC(M) chairman Mirwaiz Muhammad Umer Farooq and arresting JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and shifting him to central jail Srinagar, Butt sahib said that such is the highhandedness of rulers and their police that JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik during his illegal confinement at police station Kothibagh had written a letter to chief justice of Srinagar high court seeking orders against his illegal confinement.

Police in its reply to the court said that they had arrested Yasin Malik under Preventive detention laws and because he refused to fill personal bond (Muchlaka) he could not be released.

To expose this blatant lie of police, JKLF approached concerned Tehsildar but for last four days he has been missing from his office and is not ready to listen to the case. Butt sahib said that today’s exemplary peaceful program was held throughout the valley and JKLF activists held programs and hoisted black flags at many places in Baramullah, Bandipora, Kupwara, Ganderbal, Budgam, Pulwama, Shupian and Srinagar districts , the irony of the matter is that the so-called rulers who day in and day out used to raise slogans like battle of ideas, no bullet but talks etc could not tolerate this peaceful protest too and as JKLF activists and other people kept hoisting black flags police personal kept removing these black flags for the whole day thus exposing the frustration of rulers and their authorities.

Same was done by police at Lal chowk where police even abused many shopkeepers and vehicle owners while removing black flags from their personal properties. Butt sahib said that so-called rulers who claim to be democrats should have some shame because their real undemocratic face stands fully exposed before the people now.

It is worth to mention that the central protest Sit-in was held for more than one hour after which it ended peacefully.

JKLF Handed Over Letter to UNMOGIP Office, Islamabad

JKLF Handed Over Letter to UNMOGIP Office, Islamabad

Excellency Ban Ki Moon
Secretary General UNO,
Washington DC, USA.

Press Release

03 June 16

Excellency, we the members of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) are here today to register our token protest sit-in outside the office of UNMOGIP, Islamabad against anti-Kashmir policies adopted by India and against the continued human rights violations by Indian occupational forces in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK).

The occupational forces have unleashed reign of terror in the entire State and the draconian laws in place provide them license to kill or to arrest or to search anybody at any point of time without any provocationmerely on the basis of doubt.

Excellency, for the last more than six decades people of the entire State of Jammu Kashmir (JK) are struggling for the ‘Right of Independence / Right of Self-determination’ but India has been denying this birth right to us with the use of her military power to which hundreds and thousands of citizens of JK have fallen prey to.

However, the Indian occupational forces could not silence peoples’ just voice of freedom but now in order to bring demographic changes in the entire State of JK they have introduced new anti-Kashmir policies like; construction of separate settlements for Indian ex-army men, for internally displaced Kashmiri pandits and for homeless non-residents in Kashmir. They have unlawfully announced to settle non local industrialists by allotting them land in Kashmir and to provide citizenship rights to non-residents of JK.

Excellency, the freedom loving residents of JK have once again stood up against India with the demand to desist from such anti- Kashmir nefarious designs.

Leading this peaceful movement, Indian authorities have unlawfully arrested Chairman JKLF, Mr. Muhammad Yasin Malik and detained Chairmen of the two factions of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Mr. Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq along with other senior leaders Shabir Ahmed Shah and Showkat Ahmed Bakhshi at their respective residences in IHK.

Therefore, terming these arrests and house detentions as undemocratic, inhuman and uncalled for, we the protesters here not only condemn this act of India but at the same time demand their early and safe release. Furthermore, we appeal your good-self to influence and impress upon India to shun the path of unlawfully changing the demography of JK.

Press Release

2 June 2016

The focus of this statement is on the following two main points:

(a) the conspiracy to engineer demographic change in the valley of Kashmir under the guise of Pandit resettlement and:

(b) the threat to Jammu Muslims from communalist forces of the BJP/RSS nexus.

LONDON// Indian government’s policy to construct huge separate townships on the West Bank model, (Israeli style Settlements), is a deliberate attempt to create social, political and demographic dislocation of Kashmir.

Under the guise of  Pandit resettlement, Indian government has embarked on construction of separate enclaves, including sainak or the ex-service men colonies in the Valley, despite the fact that, upon retirement service personnel return to their family homes.

It has decided to give land to non-Kashmiri industrialists, and accommodate homeless people in the valley from outside Jammu Kashmir, especially since there is a shortage of land in the Valley of Kashmir.

Kashmiris have strongly reacted to this nefarious attempt by the Indian state, and its local BJP/PDP quislings, to divide the population on ethnic and religious lines, and to create a perpetual state of uncertainly within Jammu Kashmir, and especially in the Valley.

JKLF Chairman Mr Yasin Malik, and other pro freedom and pro people leaders, have taken the matter of Indian policy, to build separate colonies, very seriously.

Over the recent months, JKLF Chairman has mobilised, political and civic opinion across all sections of Jammu Kashmiri society to mount an effective resistance to Indian policy through a united Front. Notably he met with Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq among many others.

Since 25 May however, Mr Yasin Malik has been incarcerated, initially under Police custody, and since 29 May in Srinagar central jail.

This is a deliberate attempt by the Indian state and its local quislings, to prevent JKLF’s Chairman from further contacts with the public and opinion makers in Jammu Kashmir.

Mr Yasin Malik’s arrest and incarceration therefore exposes the charade of ‘Indian democracy’ in Jammu Kashmir.

Leaders of the All Parties Huriyat Conference-APHC- Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq APHC (M) and Syed Ali Shah Gilani APHC (G), and vice Chairman of the JKLF Mr Shaukat Bakhshi have been put under house arrest since 25 May; while JKLF zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal and organiser Bashir Kashmiri have evaded arrest as both have gone underground.

Mr Yasin Malik and the APHC leaders, Syed Ali Shah Gilani (G) and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq (M), have jointly called Friday 3 May as a day of protest, and called on the population to hoist and wave black flags throughout the Valley, against the oppression of the Indian state and its quislings in Jammu Kashmir.

Mr Yasin Malik in a message from Srinagar central jail has said that it was a life and death situation for Kashmiris and that it was important to mount a united front against the Indian machinations against the people of Kashmir.

It must be remembered that over ten thousand Pandits live and engage in business throughout the valley of Kashmir without fear, including having businesses in the Lal Chawk area of Srinagar itself in complete safety.

There is therefore, no justification for India to construct separate Colonies for Pandits or any other section of society in the Valley or any other part of Jammu Kashmir.
We do however demand, that Indian government gives necessary financial support (one crore rupees for each family) for Pandit families, to buy property wherever they wish in the Valley.

Also in view of deepening communalisation of Jammu Kashmir society by the BJP, we are extremely concerned for the safety of Muslim population in Jammu.

In this regard we consider the words of BJP minister Lal Singh deeply offensive, and full of intimidation to Muslims of Jammu, when he reminded them of the 1947 massacres, in which at least three hundred thousand (3 Lakh) Muslim residents were massacred, in what can only be described as deliberate and calculated actions of extremists, to eliminate Muslim presence in Jammu region of the state.

Lal Singh conveyed his threat when a delegation of Jammu Muslims met him on 20 May with their grievances. Instead of redressing their complaints, he reminded them of what happened to their kith and kin in 1947.

It is sad to note that people like Lal Singh, inspired by communalist ideology of the RSS in 1947, were responsible for the massacres, and of forcing more than half a million Muslims to flee for safety, in Azad Kashmir and the Punjab in Pakistan.

In view of Lal Singh’s threat to Muslims of Jammu with dire consequences, and considering the violent nexus and ideology of the RSS and the BJP, we call upon the international community to take these threats against Muslims in Jammu seriously.

It is our firm view therefore that construction of vast colonies in the valley, is an attempt by the Indian government, under the guise of Pandit resettlement, to change demographic character, and create social dislocation of not only the Valley, but whole of Jammu Kashmir.

Furthermore it is an attempt to create facts on the ground by changing the majority into minority in Indian Held Jammu Kashmir.

It is an attempt by the Indian state to bring about fragmentation of the Valley of Kashmir by erecting an iron curtain through construction of these huge townships.

We firmly reiterate our strong resolve to resist this diabolical Indian policy of building huge militarised fortresses that would be similar to the West Bank Settlements by Israel in Palestine, under the guise of Pandit resettlement.

We will take appropriate and effective diplomatic and political actions to counter Indian policy by supporting the anti-status quo and pro- people leadership in Indian occupied Jammu Kashmir.

We demand that Indian authorities and their local quislings immediately release Mr Yasin Malik from arbitrary incarceration as well as Huriyat and JKLF leaders from house arrests.

We call upon the international community to take note of these undemocratic and oppressive methods of the Indian state and its agents in Jammu Kashmir against peaceful and legitimate political rights and activities of the pro- people and anti-status quo Kashmiri leadership.

As part of our concerted diplomatic and political actions, steps will be taken to organise public demonstrations against Indian Embassies and Diplomatic Missions in Europe, UK, the United States, and in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.

In his message from Srinagar Central Jail, Mr Yasin Malik expressed his delight over the successful operation of Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and extended solidarity with Prime Minister Sharif’s family and prayed for his early recovery.

Mr Malik also expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Malik Muhammad Shafi, a founding member of the JKLF and right hand man of JKLF supreme head jenab Amanullah Khan marhoom, and expressed his condolences with the family and prayed for Malik Shafi  sahib’s heavenly abode……

Statement by the Diplomatic Bureau of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front:
Issued in London at JKLF’s International Secretariat.

London- 2 June 2016:

The focus of this statement is on the following two main points:
