JKLF Welcomes Release of Shabir Ahmed Shah

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front - JKLF- has welcomed the release of Senior Kashmiri leader Shabir Ahmed Shah from Centre Jail after nine months of illegal imprisonment.

In a statement JKLF Senior Vice chairman S M Afzal said that sacrifices rendered by Shabir Ahmed Shah are enormous and he has stood firm to his commitments despite all odds. He further said that this illegal imprisonment was not new to him and such kind of tactics by Indian government can not demoralize the Kashmiri people.

JKLF diplomatic committee in London has also welcomed the release of Shabir Shah. Head of diplomatic committee Prof. Zafar Khan has reiterated that no peace was possible in South Asia without resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris’ aspirations. He maintained that the people of Kashmir were determined to continue their struggle despite Indian colonial attitude towards the Kashmir issue. He called on the Indian government to release all political prisoners in Kashmir and start a meaningful dialogue for the resolution of Kashmir issue.

JKLF Rally in Mazar-E-Shohada Srinagar

Srinagar, March 30, 2009: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front - JKLF - has observed 30th march 2009 as Martyrs days and paid rich tributes to the great martyrs of Kashmir including Shaheed Ishfaq Majeed Wani, Shaheed Shabbir Sidiqui, Shaheed Jaleel Indrabi, Shaheed Basharat Raza and Shaheed Abdul Ahad Guru.

While addressing a gathering of JKLF workers in Mazar-e-Shohada in Srinagar, Sheikh Mohammed Afzal Senior Vice Chairman of JKLF said that these leaders being the leading figures in our cadres have inspired the whole nation with their sacrifices. He further said that their sacrifice would always be remembered and will remain forever a milestone in the resistance movement of Kashmiri people.

S M Afzal added that JKLF will continue its struggle for complete independence of Jammu Kashmir state under the guidance of Supreme Head Amanullah Khan.

The gathering was also addressed by Abdul Qadir Rather, Rashid Ul Hassan and Firdous Khalil.
