JKLF Rally in Mazar-E-Shohada Srinagar
Srinagar, March 30, 2009: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front - JKLF - has observed 30th march 2009 as Martyrs days and paid rich tributes to the great martyrs of Kashmir including Shaheed Ishfaq Majeed Wani, Shaheed Shabbir Sidiqui, Shaheed Jaleel Indrabi, Shaheed Basharat Raza and Shaheed Abdul Ahad Guru.
While addressing a gathering of JKLF workers in Mazar-e-Shohada in Srinagar, Sheikh Mohammed Afzal Senior Vice Chairman of JKLF said that these leaders being the leading figures in our cadres have inspired the whole nation with their sacrifices. He further said that their sacrifice would always be remembered and will remain forever a milestone in the resistance movement of Kashmiri people.
S M Afzal added that JKLF will continue its struggle for complete independence of Jammu Kashmir state under the guidance of Supreme Head Amanullah Khan.
The gathering was also addressed by Abdul Qadir Rather, Rashid Ul Hassan and Firdous Khalil.

JKLF Meeting with Lord Eric Avebury in London
(Speaking on the occasion, Lord Eric Avebury said that we have a very big Kashmiri community in several major towns and cities of U K New Delhi UK South Asia and it also has a moral obligation to help in resolving the Kashmir issue. Lord Eric also updated the JKLF team on progress on the communication with home office on the issue of Mr. Amanullah Khan.
Senior Leader of JKLF Malik Latif on this occasion said that Veteran Kashmiri leader and supreme head of JKLF Mr. Amanullah Khan has been representing the true aspirations as well as emotions of Kashmiris. He said that Pakistan India Pakistan
Zafar Sharif, Secretary of JKLF diplomatic committee said that large number of Kashmiri community in Britain want an honorable solution of the Kashmir issue based on the true aspiration of its people. He said that Elections in Kashmir have once again been rejected by the Kashmiri people and JKLF’s stand is clear that elections are not substitute to Kashmiri peoples’ right of self-determination.
JKLF delegation praised efforts of Lord Avebury over the years for highlighting the sufferings of Kashmiris and for supporting the cause of independence. JKLF hopes that the veteran peer will keep on encouraging the freedom loving people so that peace and harmony can prevail in the troubled region. Solution of Kashmir Issue must for Peace: Zafar Sharif
London 07 May 09: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front-JKLF- has made it clear that elections in Indian Occupied Kashmir in presence of 800 thousand Indian troops is not acceptable and can not be a substitute to Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
In a statement issued in London during JKLF London branch meeting held on Tuesday 5th May 2009, it reminded international community of its legal and moral obligations to intervene in the current most worsening situation in Kashmir on the eve of false elections. The statement said that enforcing undeclared curfew, beating people for speaking against these false elections and holding election on the behest of gun speaks itself about India’s claim of a democratic country in the world.
Speaking on this occasion, senior leader of JKLF and member of its diplomatic committee Zafar Sharif strongly condemned the Indian authorities for not allowing the people to express their anguish against the elections. He added that these kind of elections were held in Kashmir on numerous occasions before but history is evident that such elections have no bearing on the nature of the dispute. Zafar Sharif said that Kashmir issue must be addressed according to the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiri people for the lasting and durable peace in South Asian region.
Mahmood Hussain, a senior member of JKLF and member of executive committee of JKLF UK Zone, while speaking on this occasion said that India’s election drama in Kashmir is an attempt to deflect the international attention from Kashmir issue. He also condemned the continued arrest of JKLF leader Zahoor Ahmed Butt who was arrested by Indian authorities on 12th of February this year. Mahmood Hussain called on the Indian government to immediately release Zahoor Ahmed Butt and many other leaders who have been arrested in order to stop the popular voice of Kashmir people.
The meeting was also addressed by office bearers of JKLF London branch including Mahmood Faiz, Nadeem Iqbal, Javaid Rashid and Sanawar Hussain.
